I once nearly bought a hello kitty kettle. At the sanrio themepark you can have a hello kitty themed wedding. I reckon the elvis themed wedding at graceland has an equal kitch tat value, though. You know, I scare a lot of potential husbands off talking about things like this...
Really, though, I think a hello kitty vibrator would just make my life complete.
Anyway, yeah. I was thinking of catching up on my manga purchasing backlog soon. I dont get HY or any of the monthlies though, do we know if/when it'll appear as a tankoubon volume? I dont have much time to work on it, but I'm sure I could manage some regular scanning.

Sure! I'll scan it for you! ^^ I can also pay shipping for whoever needs it after me. I can scan it in a day and have it shipped out within two. (or three, in case I get it on a Saturday. Post office not open on Sundays T_T)

Cool! In that case maybe as soon as I get it I should ship it to you for scanning, and then whoever volunteers for the editing can be working on whiting out the existing text while I'm translating.
It's likely to take a while though... Crisis and I figured out we wanted to go after it about 8 hours after an auction ended with nobody bidding on it.
The magazine got relisted, fortunately, but unfortunately that means I've got to wait a week and hope I win it this time. ^^;; Then it's likely to be 3 weeks for auction processing in Japan, and another 1-2 weeks for shipping to me, and then maybe 3-4 days for re-shipping to you. Gotta give you a while to scan, and then another 3-4 days back to me for translating... So at that point I'm looking at 8-10 weeks turn-around time and likely $30-$40 with the mail and remail and re-remail and etc...
@_@ so if anyone possibly feels like chipping in toward the somewhat crazy amount of shipping that's going to need doing on an auction that's currently going for $2.50 for the item itself, I'd be grateful... ^^;;;
I could've trimmed one week off that if we'd swapped mail one day sooner. @_@ That's always how my life goes though... and at least at this rate it'll be after the May con where I'm doing the kimono presentation.
@_@ I need a vacation badly... so I can catch up with myself, and finally get a chance to sit down and read Angel Sanctuary! I've been pointedly avoiding getting started on it 'cause I don't want to have to sit down and read 20 volumes straight and I just know I'd get addicted, as evidenced by the number of addicts running around here, and Lady Elanor's spiffy and rather creepy coloring... okay, I'm done rambling for a bit...

(sweatdrop)
(mumble) someone must have told Crisis about the Hello Kitty vibrators...
('nother sweatdrop)
and I'm NOT kidding. God I wish I was, though...
I'm wondering if I dare go look up the URL for that. Someone posted it over on the JAC forum. But I've been scarred for life already, I really don't need to see a Hello Kitty vibrator again...
In other news, I'm GOING to get my hands on that Blood Hound story! @_@ It may end up being an expensive proposition though... Crisis and I were wondering if we might be able to beg Carole to scan it whenever it gets somewhere on the US side of the Pacific, or if people might be willing to contribute a little toward offsetting the costs of getting it shipped from one place in Japan to another place in Japan to one place in the US for translations to somewhere else for scanning and back... more details when I know more about what it's going to cost and where it needs to get mailed to and such...

uhm, I'd volunteer for financial support for the whole shipping and mailing and re-mailing thing but since I'm quite oldfashioned when it comes to modern pay methods I'd send the money via mail so I'd need a r/l adress to send it to... is that ok by you?
well, if yes, drop me a line .. ^^;
ah, beeing able to sit down and read all 20 AS volumes at once... x_X;; I'm so envious...
I die of curiousity and have to wait for the omanga updates (ha, or the german release... 14 month to go up to volume 20 - thats more than a year >.<)

Hmmm...is it possible to ship it directly to Carole once the auction ends, so that one round of shipping already gets cancelled out? ^^
*still wonders how the heck a hello kitty vibrator thread turned into a blood hound logistics thread ^^ *

Well, I'm hoping I'd be able to ship a couple other auctions I've won at the same time, so the shipping cost per item would go way down. ($15 shipping for one BetsuHana is a lot harder to excuse myself for than $15 shipping which includes a phone card, three CDs, and a BetsuHana, and so the "final cost" of the BetsuHana in a big shipping lot would be a lot less than the $30-$40 it might be if I can't do it that way. I don't know yet though; it depends on when different auction people ship things to Celga in Japan.)
If the BetsuHana can go in with other things, I'll have them ship it to me and I'll split up the shipping cost that way. But if it has to go by itself, I'll see if I can get them to ship it to Carole...
^^;; (sorry about the drastic subject-swapping, that's what happens when I get too tired to be vertical...)
